Native to northeastern Brazil, mature trees can produce hundreds of pounds of fruit per year. Fruits are sweet, juicy and astringent and accompanied by an external cashew nut. Grafts available in yellow and red varieties. Trees are evergreen and can reach 14 meters tall. It prefers sandy soil with good drainage and tropical lowland climate. |
