The largest tree-borne fruit on the planet, it is originally from India and is very nutritious and productive. Average fruit weighs from 7 to 10 kilos but fruits can weigh up to 55 kg and measure nearly a meter. Available in yellow and red varieties. Bumpy and rigid on the outside it is filled with firm sweet fruit surrounding large round edible seeds. Can reach 25 meters tall and prefers tropical lowland climate but can adapt to over 1,000 meters above sea level. |
